My Social Networking

There's only one place for real trivia; Social Networking.

Reluctantly I do do the Facebook thing and very happily I do the Twitter thing.

However, the centre of my trivia universe is Google+. I also play in other places but since nobody's heard of them, and I'm sporadic, I'll save you from me rattling on about them.

I'm a Google 'anorak' in the first place, using a whole range of their products including Blogger of course (to host England's England) and Google Apps for Domains to handle everything christopherengland.com.

Google+ is a logical coming together of all the aspects of Google that used to be packaged as separate entities. I use it (a lot) for quick conversations and for posting the bits of fun that are not put here on my main England's England blog.

I've always been a Twitter anorak and was a very early adopter, as I kind of 'get' it, and so I use it for 'broadcasting' trivia and short bursts of bollocks, but mainly for crowdsourcing and news gathering. Twitter isn't really ideal for 'conversations', so those I will have in abundance via Google+.

Every new item I put on Google+ (but not the comments) copies automagically across to Facebook and Twitter (and other places like LinkedIn).

If people on Facebook or Twitter kindly reply I will then add a bit more if appropriate, or engage them on that social media alone, sometimes ending up in a flurry of exciting activity. However, I do have a pathological hatred of Facebook for reasons I have cited in quite a few articles here. I gave in to it simply because it's where everybody just is these days, and I was lonely on the outside looking in!  Well, I was until Google+ came along.

Please come to Google+ and put me in one of your circles!  You are also welcome to follow me on Twitter or to become my 'Friend' (even if I don't actually know you in person) on Facebook, and I'll follow/friend/circle you back. Here's all you need to join me on the 'dark side':
